We are thrilled to be working with Tourism Vernon and bringing attention to this hidden gem during the upcoming road trip season. We had the pleasure of visiting the area recently to get a crash course on the fun activities Vernon has to offer and lucky for us – we had some locals to show us around,

STAY: Sparking Hill Resort is a beautiful property adorned in over 3M in Swarovski Crystals and our room had the most beautiful views of Okanagan Lake. There were so many amenities included in this stay including complimentary wifi, valet parking and breakfast. The 7 step spa cycle is also available to guests at no extra charge and we were particularly fond of the Kneipp Hydrotherapy (aka: water-stepping). This simple and effective process uses thermo-therapy to cause the blood vessels to expand and contract, giving “nature a helping hand” by stimulating and invigorating the circulatory and lymphatic systems, relaxing the nervous system, reducing swelling, increasing the body’s defense against varicose veins, and relaxing aching muscles.

Predator Ridge Resort is located just below Sparkling Hill and if outdoor activity is a big part of your vacation planning – this is the perfect place to stay and play with friends and family. Each room on this property is a suite or cottage with full kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Our room in the lodge overlooked the award winning golf course driving range and made for a beautiful view over a glass of wine on the balcony at sunset.

EAT: The Range Lounge and Grill at Predator Ridge offered huge portions of the finest clubhouse food we’ve had in a really long time. Try the truffle fries and chicken wings and wash it all down with one of many local craft beers and ciders on tap. Also on our list during this trip was a visit to Davisons Orchards for the most delicious and all natural cold pressed apple juice we’ve ever had. You’ll find this apple juice all over Vernon but we made the special trip to the farm to get an Applanche – a slushie version of this most refreshing drink is perfect all year long.

SHOP: We didn’t do a lot of shopping in Vernon – but we did come home with a lot of wine from the Scenic Sip Trail. We made pit stops at 50th Parallell Estates and Grey Monk Estate Winery which has a great tasting room with lots of wine related treasures! We also picked up honey from Planet Bee Honey Farm.

SEE: The drive along the Okanagan Lake was absolutely stunning and next time – we’ll absolutely stop for a picnic or a dip in the water. It was a bit overcast during our time there – so no pool time at Sparkling Hill for us – but the view from their infinity pool would be outstanding.
