When orchestrating a media gathering in honour of our dear friends Ange Chew from Tourism Vernon and Brad Pelletier from Predator Ridge, little did we know it would fall on the same night as Game 5 between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors when the Raps were up 3-1 in the finals and could’ve take the trophy home. Lucky for us, our guest list was full of Edmonton’s amazing media pros who didn’t want to pass up a chance have two of Vernon’s finest ambassadors help in planning their summer vacations in the Okanagan. Full disclosure: our final guest list was predominately women so it turned out to be an impromptu Ladies Night Out!

With culinary tourism being a major focus around tourism for the City of Vernon and a roomful of food loving storytellers, what better way to showcase some of Vernon’s locally made cheeses, charcuterie and farm fresh ingredients than having one of Edmonton’s most beloved farm-to-table chefs prepare a multi-course feast?

Chef Blair Lebsack and Sous Chef Davina Moraiko of RGE RD designed a beautiful menu for our special guests, Edmonton media personalities from Global Edmonton, UP 99.3, The Edmonton Sun, 630 CHED, freelance travel writers,  lifestyle bloggers and influencers. Each guest left with a fantastic parting gift with products from Davison Orchards, Okanagan Spring Brewery, The BX Press Cidery, Planet Bee Honey Farm, and Back to Earth.

It’s been fantastic to see our introductions result in visits to Vernon by Edmonton-based lifestyle blogger Linda Hoang, Calgary culinary blogger, Carmen Cheng.
