Canadian oyster shucking pros (and a few amateur enthusiasts) will converge at Rodney’s Oyster House to help celebrate the 2nd Annual Alberta Oyster Festival on Sunday June 24th from 1-5pm. Bragging rights, trophy and a grand prize trip to Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship in Tyne Valley, PEI will be up for grabs at the family-friendly event.

In 2017, the festival was designed to create awareness for Ocean Wise, a Vancouver-based non-profit sustainable seafood program to help Canadians make ocean-friendly choices at home or dining out that ensure the health of our oceans. “We are so proud to be one of 700 Ocean Wise partners across Canada,” says Brad Conrad, General Manager of Rodney’s Calgary. “Our staff, vendors and industry friends are donating time, products and prizes to help bring awareness to the safety of our oceans and responsible consumption of seafood for generations to come.”

Rodney’s Oyster House Calgary is once again set to host annual bash showcasing marvellous mollusks and sustainable seafood in support of Mealshare Calgary.

The annual celebration brings together a roster of Alberta’s favourite local brands in food and beverage including Tool Shed Brewing Co., Eau Claire DistilleryFrozen AssetsRosso CoffeeBig Rock Brewery and more. The one-day festival includes a silent auction in support of Mealshare.

“We’re so excited to be the recipient of the proceeds from one of our favourite culinary events of the year,” says Breanne Sich, Community Leader for Mealshare. “The team at Rodney’s in Calgary is so passionate about giving back to the community and are notoriously known for throwing the BEST parties.”

Included in the $25 ticket price:

(choose from wine, Prosecco, assorted beers and cocktails)
