After an exciting three years developing and managing the Italian Centre Shop’s Calgary’s marketing and public relations initiatives, we are pleased to announce the addition of the brand’s Edmonton locations to the BONAFIDE Media & PR client roster.

“This has been a long time coming,” says General Manager, Gino Marghella. “Working with Jessie to launch our Calgary store opening changed the trajectory for our brand and helped all of our stores grow. I’m excited to see the programs she developed to help us become leaders in Calgary’s culinary scene enjoyed by our loyal customers in Edmonton.”

The Italian Centre Shop’s flagship location in Little Italy was opened in 1959 by Frank Spinelli and started out as a small convenience store selling Italian magazines, sodas and chocolates. Soon, Edmonton’s growing Italian community started requesting more Italian favourites. With its warmth and neighbourhood feel, the shop became a gathering place for residents in the area and evolved into a grocery store that would carry provisions from all over Europe. In 2000, Frank Spinelli passed away, daughter Teresa took the reins and subsequently expanded the store to two more locations, Southside in 2006 and Westend in 2013.

2015 marked the opening of the first location in Calgary’s Willow Park community and with the addition of the Edmonton locations to our scope of work, Italian Centre Shop fans throughout the province will soon experience the execution of partnerships and programs that will foster collaboration and connect Alberta’s culinary community.
