Based on a commitment to the cultural and economic revitalization of the community his ancestors called home, Summer 2016 marked the opening of Born & Raised restaurant by Vittorio Colacitti, Top Chef Canada Season 4 finalist and executive chef/owner of The Good Son in Toronto.

For Chef Vittorio, Born & Raised is a childhood dream made real. Born & Raised is a homage to his Ital-Canadian roots growing up in Burlington, to summers on the family farm in Lowville and to travels to Europe, Asia and all over North America.

Located on James Street North in Hamilton’s lively Art Crawl district, Born & Raised nestles in the heart of the action amid modern art galleries, charming boutiques, cozy cafés and old-fashioned mom ’n pop shops.

Honouring the Niagara Peninsula – where soil is fertile and rich in nutrients – Chef Vittorio conveys love for old-world cooking techniques learned from his Italian roots alongside his fond and evolving passion for global flavours.

The 80-seat restaurant and raw bar features a wood-fire oven to prepare dishes using local, seasonal ingredients to charm and excite all five senses.

From after-work libations to being THE place to watch UEFA Euro Cup finals to casual date nights, Born & Raised’s take on hospitality is simple: humble and approachable food, drink and service in a warm, vibrant and inviting setting. All are welcome.
